Equine Wellness

The essence of the wellness program instilled at Fouts Equine is annual preventative maintenance. Keeping equine clients at optimal performance and health is a firsthand priority. Dr. Fouts recommends a medical evaluation at least once a year to ensure that the horse(s) are in sound health and that any potential concerns are detected before they turn into more serious conditions.

The comprehensive checkup will include:

-Annual vaccinations including tetanus, Eastern and Western equine encephalomyelitis, West Nile virus, influenza, herpesvirus and rabies

-Floating teeth to ensure proper dental health

-Deworming to prevent the risk of parasite infestation

-Sheath cleaning for male horses to remove excretion and dirt

-Full physical exam

-Providing education on individual nutrition plans for each horse
